In the shower, thoughts of the looming opportunity and recovery of much lost time is filling up as much as the steam from the water. The conclusion is that it’s time to take the power back.
Water’s off and the curtain is pulled back.
Step 1, dry yourself. Then wrap your hair.
Step 2, Walk over to the mirror. Handle your skin moisture because you only get it once, so why not take care of it.
Step 3, Brush that hair back. You are no longer a thing of the past. You take the blinders off.
Each step brings strength of character back. Each breath brings forth the calm power that is rising up through you and you feel…
Alive.
You take stock.
You have your maiden name back.
You wonder what maiden means.
maid-en: a girl or young woman, especially an unmarried one. (Yep that’s me now. I am in prime age time so still young, yet smart enough to have gotten here. Also Unmarried now)
Adjective
1. (of a woman, especially an older one) Unmarried
2. being or involving the first attempt or act of its kind (think maiden voyage). This is the maiden voyage for getting my maiden name back, Ah ha ha hem. **insert bad joke**
Ok, I am still young, a maiden, and on my maiden voyage with my adulty version of my maiden name.
I need to make this run bad ass. Like hardcore badass. Brush the hair out of my face, put some drops in the eyes to get the “I’ve already worked 8 hours today” out of my eyes, and realize that it is time to MOVE UP.
Change is coming. The first step is realizing you can take back the power. You can create the fire. You can take the first step. Taking stock in your life, Like real stock, is essential to receive the path you’re striving to get on.
What is serving you, what isn’t? What are the nags that keep you from sleeping at night? Where did they come from? What would you do if you knew exactly what needed to happen? What would that look like? What do you say ” I wish I had…” over? What does a super happy day look like? What little step can you take tomorrow to get you one step closer to your goal.
Asking questions and being curious about what it actually takes to get to your dreams opens your mind to new possibilities and new connections for the path to your dream.
Today is the day I make a small change toward my perfect life. Today I hope to reach one person’s heart. Today I hope my message is received. I hope to double today, tomorrow.
