BUSINESS OWNERS TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES!

You guys, you only get one body and one life to live!! well unless you believe in reincarnation, then you get multiple one lives and one bodies to live hahaha

What I have found over the last few years of coaching business owners (and quite frankly, myself included) is that many business owners work on scaling their business and increasing profits. This can, and often does, become an all-consuming endeavor. In the pursuit of success, they often neglect their own physical and mental well-being.
Neglecting health can lead to burnout, reduced productivity, and even more serious health issues down the line.

I have recently experienced a significant phase of emotional burnout and fatigue which caused me to make poor diet decisions and not take care of my brain space. I have recently put myself back on a plan to keep my mind and my body in shape.

It’s important for business owners to recognize the value of taking care of themselves, and to incorporate health and wellness into their daily routines.

Here are some suggestions on how to do so while still running a successful company:

  1. Prioritize Exercise: Exercise is one of the most effective ways to reduce stress, improve mental clarity and boost energy levels. Business owners can incorporate exercise into their daily routine by taking a brisk walk during their lunch break, scheduling a workout before or after work, or participating in a fitness class. Prioritizing physical activity can also lead to improved overall health and a lower risk of chronic diseases.
  2. Practice Mindfulness: Mindfulness practices such as meditation or yoga can help to reduce stress levels and increase focus. Incorporating just a few minutes of mindfulness practice into your daily routine can help you to feel more grounded and centered throughout the day. There are many apps and online resources available to help guide you in mindfulness practices.
  3. Take Breaks: It can be tempting for business owners to work non-stop, but taking breaks throughout the day is essential for both physical and mental well-being. Taking a few minutes to step away from work, stretch, or simply relax can help to reduce stress and improve productivity.
  4. Make Time for Sleep: Sleep is critical for both physical and mental health, yet it’s often one of the first things to be sacrificed when running a business. Making sleep a priority can help to improve focus, reduce stress, and increase energy levels. Aim for at least seven hours of sleep per night and establish a consistent sleep routine.
  5. Plan Healthy Meals: Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and lean protein can help to fuel the body and provide the necessary nutrients for optimal health. Taking the time to plan and prepare healthy meals can be a challenge for busy business owners, but it’s worth the effort. The other options are to take in nutrition in the form of Superfood shakes and vitamins for ease of use, then make yourself a healthy dinner. Preplan and prepackage the snacks you take to the office as well so you aren’t tempted to step out and eat something crappy.

Just so you know, it is SUPER IMPORTANT for business owners to prioritize their own health and wellness in order to run a successful company. By incorporating exercise, mindfulness practices, taking breaks, making time for sleep, and planning healthy meals into their daily routines, business owners can improve their overall health, reduce stress, and increase productivity.

Remember that taking care of yourself is not a luxury, but a necessity for long-term success. Your team and family need you around.
