I was thumbing through my people on my facebook this morning with my coffee (as per usual) and I was noticing some trends. Actually, I have been picking up on this for a bit now, but I figured this morning I would write on it. It was my trigger today 😉

We all know that the communities in your city, even though the city is huge, are pretty small. The circles people run in are like a small town where everyone knows everyone. This is true in neighborhood circles, business circles, extra curricular activity circles.

I worked in corporate america fresh out of college. I was in the medical device community and even though there are hundreds of thousands of people in the medical device industry, most people knew who other people were. It is funny how even now, when I am in the real estate industry, I run into people all the time who are in the medical device industry. It is nice to have a commonality to talk about when we are getting to know one another.

The real estate community is small as well. There are certain groups that you join, or events you go to where you don’t think you would know anyone there, but when you get there, you know like 10 people! I experienced that recently at the Women’s Council of Realtors holiday gala I went to. I saw a lady that I volunteered with at the Wounded Warrior Annual Gala at this event. Had no idea she was in the mortgage industry when I volunteered with her for the last 4 years, but there she was! At a realtor event nonetheless!

I’m sure you all get where I am going with this. The weird thing that I have been noticing, however, is that I have friends on facebook who are not in the same career circles but are friends with each other!  I would have never thought that they would be connected to one another, or could figure out why (didn’t go to school together, didn’t live in the same neighborhood, didn’t have any other common friends), but they are. Somehow those two friends of mine got connected with each other and I am connected and know both of them! I just find that so impressive!

Facebook you amaze me haha. All this got me thinking about the fact that you are usually one step or one friend away from someone who maybe you should know! People need to connect more to make their circles huge! It also reminds me that the things you do in life should always hold you in a high regard! You never know who you will meet that knows someone you know.

I think connecting is awesome and good for the soul. Making new friends in life is a great feeling. I love networking! I love being introduced to people by other people I know and seeing how we can work together in life. Connecting fuels my passion. My friends, who I have had for a long time, bring me life in a different way. They are the ones I know who will be there for me whenever I need them to be, they know me and my flaws and accept me even with them!

Cherish those you know and have known, and have open arms to those you don’t!

Have a great day and thanks for readin! XOXO
