Sunday Morning

A night of good friends and music is just what my internal doctor ordered. Weeks go by and work drives your life. Sometimes it’s good to break loose for a moment to spend times with those that make your heart happy. Was fortunate enough to have a break free from the stress night last night. Reflecting on the evening, there was music, there was friends and we danced.

Making friends in the crowd is priceless as well! Striking up conversations with people will bring many things. You never know what people do in the daily grind, but last night I met a diamond dealer. 57 year old Jay, wearing a red hat and smoking a fat cigar. We chatted about California where he lives. Coming from Minnesota, he moved to the concrete jungle and was telling me of the nuances of living in California. Apparently it is either a love or a hate place to live. Not even the warmth, and the palm trees can make everyone stay. As we chatted we danced and sang to classic rock songs performed by our friends.

My friend was the singer, his friend was the guitarist. His friend of 25 years and my friend of 29 years. We reflected on business and life. How the world changes. He told me about the 500+ mistakes that turned him into one of the best in his business. I told him about the 100+ that I have made so far and learned from. He tells me that they were the best tools to make him the best.Just goes to show that no matter what business you are in, mistakes are golden and people are amazingly resilient.

As I sip on my coffee, I am thankful for chance encounters made while dancing your heart out. I danced.

I danced like no one was watching. I loved life, I lived in the moment. What an amazing experience.

Sunday morning message to all my readers: Live in the moment, forget the grind even for a short while, and dance your heart out. Positive energy explodes in every direction from you and even if you don’t know it, you can make someone’s night just by having a conversation and radiating happiness.

Happy Sunday!
Addition to this post: today while running from appointment to appointment, I receive a text!

“I have traveled a lot. Failed a lot. Succeeded a little. Never met a woman like you. Sober minded. I believe you are an acclimationist. Just sayin. I wanted to acknowledge that and wish you and yours a wonderful day.
    Jay Bird”

To reaffirm the positive impact you can have on people, he is still thinking about and enjoying the conversation 4 days later. Meaningful impact in a positive way truly affects the quality of your life. In the daily grind I get to have moments to smile about knowing that for a little blip in time, I was able to make someone smile. Have a great tuesday!
