Spring!

I love spring! It is the time of renewal of all life! Trees come back to life, people come out of their caves, flowers bloom and birds sing! It is wonderful to walk out the door in the morning and not get blasted with arctic air.

I always seem to feel a sense of motivation when spring finally arrives. I tend to find myself in a lul through the winter. I get that seasonal depression, I think. Not sure if any others get that feeling, but winter is just not good for reflection for me. I am ok when the first snow falls, but after that, I can’t stand being in MN.

In the spring I tend to reflect on all the positive accomplishments of the previous year and focus on new and inspiring ideas for the year to come. In the winter, however, I tend to reflect on the negative items. What went wrong, what mistakes I made, how I didn’t reach certain goals. I feel like I make all kinds of plans and visions for the future in Dec like everyone else. I plan for the new year and all the promise another year gone by means, but after the 1st, it is hard to remain on the positive track.

Thinking about it now that the sun is shining and the weather is warming, what does all that accomplish? It makes one back track from all the forward momentum you achieved the previous year. Bringing down the positive aura is hard to recoup from. Look at me! Here is it, 3rd month of the year, and progress is now picking up finally!  The last couple of months may have not been completely wasted but they definitely weren’t as productive as they could have been if I were positive for the last couple months.

No matter what you believe in, God, the Universe, the Earth, wind, and sun, it is important for you to remain faithful to something positive. I don’t think that some mystical force is going to give me everything I desire if I ask for it, and the proof is in the pudding. I start getting down on life or myself and it shows in my output. A positive thought pattern however, provides drive, ambition, motivation, and a general great feeling.

I know what you’re thinking…it is impossible to stay positive all the time, she’s crazy. You know what? I agree! however it takes small steps daily to form a habit. I also think you have to search inside yourself to find out what your personality is like to find ways to put more positivity in your life. For me, I am positive and happy and laid back by nature. I thrive on happy positive people who have a general lust for life! I feed off that energy, suck it in, and am a gale wind force to be reckoned with when I am in my zone. The problem is, when I am around negativity, angered people, and times of conflict, I find myself pulling that in as well and my thoughts turn to the negative. Add the cold of winter to the equation and I can end up being worthless.

Currently I am looking for solutions to the problem with winter. I know one way to fix it would be to snowbird, but the details of that will take a bit to work out. Other options are being pondered.

Anyway, welcome to spring! My favorite season. And here’s to motivation for you to reach your goals and remain positive in life and happy in love with everything that you love!
