Negative Nellies

I was with a friend of mine who lifts my spirits always. We have the same vision and the same loving nature! She coaches people in a different realm then I do but our passions align well. We were having a conversation about different things that were going on in each other’s lives and our conversations are always inspiring!

We ended up talking about negativity in people and how that affects everything they do in life. This can be everything from weight loss, new job ventures, real estate, investments, job moves, lifestyle changes, to even your own self-image! We self sabotage all the time even if we don’t mean to! Sometimes thoughts are buried in our subconscious from conditioning that maybe we didn’t even know we were getting through our lives. Comment here, comment there, and the ones that have an impact on a subconscious level are the ones that provoke any kind of emotional response, even if it goes unregistered.

All day long people are telling themselves a story. When you get super frustrated, you start telling yourself “I can’t do this! or I am just not good enough” When you have a winning moment you tell yourself ” I did it! I am awesome! I knew I could!” The one thing that most don’t realize is that other people are telling you a story also! They are subconsciously programming you and conditioning you with out your knowledge most of the time! You are constantly being bombarded by subliminal programming! You have to FIGHT this! You have to be magneto in X-men with your helmet that blocks out Professor X getting into your head! The first step to doing this is putting on the helmet and learning to recognize that what others are telling you is their perception of reality and not yours!

During my chat, I was given a story with a message that I want to share with you! My friend was asked to stand on a platform. She jumped up there excited and had no idea why. The person giving the direction told her to stand at the edge and grab her hands as she stood on the floor. My friend grabbed her hands without question because she trusted this person. The lady looked at the group and said “this is an example of how negativity effects your life.” She directed my friend to pull her up on the platform. My friend pulled with everything she had while the woman on the floor did everything she could to stay on the floor. After about 5 minutes of the tug of war game they were playing, the lady on the ground gave a huge yank and pulled my friend down to her level. Think about that for a minute.

The moral of the story is that no matter how hard you try to help someone who is negative see the good in every situation and accept your help, you can’t unless they are a willing participant in the help you are offering. They will pull you down to their level every time!

You can’t cure a negative mind if they don’t choose to be open to your help. Just like in business, there is always negativity that surrounds ambitious and driven people. People who are jealous of the things you are doing in your life, or are confused by what you are trying to do will always try to break your spirit. DON’T LET THEM! Also don’t get sucked in to the argument with them about why you are doing what you do or what you expect to get out of it. Don’t get pulled to the ground! I was also told about a comedy skit where the comedian says, “negative people are everywhere! You can see them coming a mile away, you can see it on their faces! That scowl, that irritated with life look that is worn like a chip on their shoulder. When you see them coming, LOOK THE OTHER DIRECTION!” Obviously there is more to the skit then this but it is so true! Look the other direction!

When you create goals and plan changes in your life, be sure to surround yourself with people who support you and have the same mindset about achieving milestones. Surround yourself with people who lift you up when you feel like giving up and allow them to be your stepping stone to success. It’s not always easy, but please eliminate the people who are willing to pull you to the ground. Your motivation and sense of pride even in small accomplishments will catapult you to heights you had no idea you could reach!

Stop being your own worst enemy! Use positive statements that start with “I AM” and follow them with positive statements! I am strong, I am capable, I am worth of achieving my goals! I am beautiful! They will set the intention in your subconscious and you will begin to feel that way!

If you need and are willing to accept support, I am here for you! Reach out!

Stay positive! No one likes a Negative Nelly!
